A car bomb killed 16 people and wounded dozens more in the northern Nigerian town of Kaduna. Deborah Gembara reports - 4/8/12

The death toll from a car bomb in Nigeria's northern town of Kaduna is now at 16, according to police.
At least 35 people were injured. The bomb went off after security officers stopped the explosives laden vehicle from approaching a local church. While no group has claimed responsibility for the blast on Easter Sunday--- the targeting of a Christian place of worship will stir memories of last year's deadly Christmas Day attacks by Islamist militants Nigeria's population of more than 160 million is split roughly equally between a largely Christian south and a mostly Muslim north --- with Kaduna located close to the dividing line.
